Encoders & Resolvers repair

Incremental and absolute encoders, resolvers and linear feedback devices on motors and axes. Encoders and resolvers tell the drive where the motor and axis are. A fault shows up as feedback alarms, position errors or a motor that won't run. Many encoders can be repaired; all need checking for correct signals and alignment.

FAQ

Encoders & Resolvers repair questions

Does the encoder need to be aligned after repair?+

If it mounts on a servo motor, yes: it has to be aligned to the rotor so the drive commutates correctly. That is part of the repair when the motor is sent too.
