01 / Overview
Machine Won't Start
A machine that's completely dead — no HMI, no contactors pulling in, nothing — is almost always a supply, safety-circuit or control-power problem rather than a failure of the machine itself. The trick is working the chain from incoming supply through to the start command in order, instead of guessing.
Our technicians carry the meters and the wiring know-how to trace a no-start to its actual cause onsite, usually within the first visit, and get you running rather than leaving you waiting on a part.
02 / Diagnosis
Likely causes
The handful of things that actually cause this — in the order we rule them out.
Control power missing
A blown control fuse, a failed 24V/SMPS supply or a tripped control MCB means the PLC and contactors never get power. The main motor supply can be perfectly healthy while nothing responds.
Safety circuit open
An E-stop latched in, a tripped safety relay, an open guard interlock or a light-curtain fault holds the start circuit open by design. One open contact anywhere in the string stops everything.
Incoming supply fault
A lost phase, a tripped upstream breaker or a loose incoming termination. Three-phase gear will often sit dead or trip immediately on a single-phasing supply.
Control transformer / PLC fault
A failed control transformer, a PLC sitting in STOP, or a corrupted program means the start logic never executes even though power is present.
Motor protection latched
An overload relay, motor-protection circuit breaker or drive fault that hasn't been reset will block start until the underlying trip is cleared.

What our technician checks
A methodical path to root cause — not a scattergun of part swaps.
- 01Confirm incoming three-phase supply, phase balance and neutral/earth
- 02Verify control power — fuses, control MCB, 24V/SMPS supply and control transformer
- 03Walk the safety string: E-stops, safety relays, guard interlocks, light curtains
- 04Check PLC state (RUN/STOP), diagnostic buffer and start-permissive logic
- 05Read any drive/overload trips and clear only after finding the cause
